Carbon Credits
Traditional cement clinker emits 822 kg of CO2 per tonne produced. Quicklime produces even more.
NeoCem offers a low-carbon alternative that lowers these emissions rates by 90%. Our emissions avoidance is measured, verified, and issued as high-integrity voluntary carbon credits that companies can purchase to compensate for the emissions they cannot yet eliminate.
When you should consider buying voluntary carbon credits
Your internal decarbonisation roadmap will take time to implement, but you wish to have an impact now.
Your company generates a large volume of greenhouse gases that need to be further offset externally.
You wish to supplement your philanthropic or grantmaking activities with an additional way to promote climate action.
You're an asset manager who wishes to offset your portfolio's carbon footprint.

How our carbon credits work
Measurement
Our 90% CO2 emissions avoidance rates are based on strict measurements accepted by state investors like Bpifrance and adhere to established framework standards like ICROA.
Verification
Because our plant is conveniently located near Paris and draws its raw material from the Greater Paris Region, it is easy to verify the provenance of our carbon credits.
Issuance
Our credits are governed by voluntary frameworks like ICROA and are not subject to the rigid EU Emissions Trading Scheme restrictions that most cement manufacturers are subject to.
Reporting
Buyers receive an annual certificate detailing the amount of CO2 avoided, along with the construction projects their credits supported, when possible. Public reporting can also be viewed on Rainbow.
How we achieve 90% decarbonisation
Traditional Portland cement is created by superheating limestone to remove the carbon it contains, which is an energy-intensive process that releases the carbon into the atmosphere as CO2.
Our clays contain no carbon and require a fraction of the energy to calcine.

CO2 Avoidance Calculation
822 kg
CO2 is emitted per tonne of Portland cement produced
- 548 kg
savings from using clay vs limestone
- 179 kg
savings from energy efficient process
we emit only 95 kg CO2 per tonne of NeoFlash produced
“Bpifrance has identified NeoCem as one of the most impactful decarbonisers in its entire portfolio. We’re proud of that recognition and want to invite corporations, foundations, and asset managers to join us in further accelerating our decarbonisation efforts.”
