NeoFlash's Differentiators

We've improved upon existing calcined clay production techniques by identifying, analysing, processing, and incorporating a wider array of clays compared to common industry practice.

As a result, we're pushing the envelope on decarbonisation, price competitiveness, technical standards, circularity, and safety.

Price Competitiveness
Through Process Efficiencies & Raw Materials

Calcined clay's use in cement has historically been limited due to its high costs. This is because the family of clay that is best suited for cement is high in purity, harder to find, and mainly used in more expensive products like ceramics.

NeoCem's technologies allow it to work with a wider array of clays, including those that result from infrastructure and mining activities, which open our access to cheaper raw materials that can drastically cut costs.

Strong Technical Standards

Our central mixing lab allows us to quickly characterise new sources of clay, determine their suitability for cement, and mix them with other clay sources to develop uniform, high-quality batches that can be trusted by our customers for their technical performance.

British

Standards

  • ASTM C595: Standard Specification for Blended Hydraulic Cements

Extra Decarbonisation Thanks to Flash Calcination

Regular calcined clays are activated over 20-60 minutes in rotary kilns at 600-800°C, which is far less than the 1450°C required to activate traditional limestone cements.

Our flash calcination process improves upon these energy efficiencies, requiring just a few seconds of heat. This guarantees even further carbon reductions through the energy savings.

100% Circularity

100% of our raw material inputs are clays that result from large infrastructure and mining projects and would otherwise be sent to landfills. This means that our product's high level of circularity flows through into our customers' own circularity goals and KPIs.

No Additional Health, Safety, or Environmental Considerations

Our clays contain no hidden chemicals and are easy to handle, which translates into ease-of-use for our customers. No additional safety training or environmental investments are needed.

"The decarbonization goal of the Grand Paris Express project relies on the emergence of new industries where players like NeoCem are leaders, are entrepreneurs, and therefore we want this type of solution to be deployed on projects, on Grand Paris Express sections, where conditions, including contractual ones, are met."
