Get to Know Our Plant: Saint-Maximin
Located just 30km north of Paris, our plant at Saint-Maximin is well positioned to serve the construction industry in the Greater Paris region with its current annual recycling capacity of 150k tonnes. By 2028, we plan to double this capacity.
Key points:
We are located at the heart of France's cement consumption: the Greater Paris region.
We are positioned at the crossroads of three geographically important clay deposits.
We reconverted a brownfield, repurposing old quarry and agricultural assets for our use.
We sit atop a 60 ha plot of land, with an additional 30 of which remain for repurposing as we expand.
Strategically Partnered With the Grand Paris Express
The Grand Paris Express, a flagship project from Société des Grands Projets, is a massive infrastructure project that is adding 200km of new metro lines to the Greater Paris region. The project's 49M tons of excavated earth contain large quantities of clay that we have sourced as our raw material input.
We receive the clay shipments via barges that follow the Oise River to our factory, further boosting our environmental KPIs thanks to the low-carbon transport method.

Conveniently Located on the Oise Canal
Our location on the Oise Canal allows us to receive shipments via barge of the excavations that the Grand Paris Express project is generating.
We then calcine the clay and can send NeoFlash back via the same barges.
NeoCem & the Grand Paris Express in the News
"Our visit to the NeoCem plant in Saint-Maximin was rewarding! This innovation is fully in line with the ambition of our R&D Innovation Team at Bouygues Construction: to reduce the carbon footprint of our projects, enhance local materials and promote the circular economy. A key step towards sustainable construction!"
